LARQ and community driven COVID-19 relief initiatives

Hi backers,
It’s been a while since we’ve sent an update and we feel like this is a good time to reconnect. From the start, a big part of LARQ’s mission has been to improve the health and wellness within our community. Our community has grown a lot since then–reaching a global scale–so given what’s going on in the world, we didn't want to sit idly by. We wanted to share with you, our earliest supporters, a few things we are doing to help combat COVID-19, and how you can help to contribute to the relief efforts.
Care packages to frontline healthcare heroes
We recently sent 50 care packages to frontline healthcare heroes nominated by loved ones. These care packages each included a LARQ Bottle and 20 surgical face masks. Winners varied from ICU nurses to doctors to occupational therapists and even medical residents working the frontlines and putting themselves at risk to provide care for others. We were humbled to read such heartwarming nominations. We also want to express a sincere thank you for those of you that helped to connect us with these stories from the healthcare frontline.
Take $20 and pay it forward
Currently, donations from our Take $20 and pay it forward campaign go toward Direct Relief, a nonprofit organization that is providing healthcare heroes the much needed personal protective equipment (PPE), helping mobilize private resources to prepare for ICU patients, and boosting support to safety-net facilities worldwide.
Now through April 30, 2020, you can take $20 off your purchase and in its place, a $20 donation will automatically be applied towards Direct Relief. We know times are tough so we're also giving you the option to donate what you can ($15, $10, or $5) but we'll be taking $20 off regardless of the donation amount. We’re hoping for the best during this time and offering our gratitude to people working the frontlines.
Due to shortages in resources, we’ve been receiving messages from customers asking us how to use our PureVis™ technology in other ways around the house. With some tinkering, we put together this fun DIY project for building your own at-home UV-sanitization system using your LARQ Bottle’s cap. We call it: The Bust-a-germ Box. You can sanitize everyday household items like phones, keys, airpods and facemasks so that more of the resources can go towards those that need it most.
